We are typically the first hire on a project. This allows us to assemble the team needed to craft, develop, and fine-tune a vision for your space - this could include a general contractor, an architect, surveyor, structural or geological engineer, and an array of specialized makers and artisans.

DISCOVERY

The first phase is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin both the visualizing and planning of your space.

Our primary goal is to learn about you in order to create the environment that best reflects who you are and what your budget allows. As we have determined through many renovations, successful design projects start with building a mutual trust in order to bring ideas to fruition.

All of our projects begin with a consultation - whether in-person or virtually. We want to see your project, get an understanding of your style and aesthetic, your dreams and functional needs, your budget, and the project timeline.

SCOPE

Once we have discussed the nuts and bolts of your space, we will move forward with key elements such as:

Meeting with architects or contractors to begin the planning process and ensure all drafts and estimates are in line with your desires and bank account.
Establishing the budget and what is possible given that amount.
Researching the necessary permits and documentation required by Building & Safety to begin demo and construction.
Starting the initial design conversation.

We will provide mood boards and samples to hone in on the style you want to achieve.

DESIGN

During this phase our team will source finishes, fixtures, and materials and organize those options into a design plan. We will collaborate with you along the way and make changes as needed. We will also begin purchasing and coordinating the delivery of all orders on your behalf or you can handle this part on your own.

Once items have been decided, we can develop 3D renderings so you have a realistic, comprehensive visual of your new space. We can also edit these images to ensure the collective vision is captured.

BUILD

We often help our clients navigate the construction phase by leading project management, including bidding out the work to our extensive database of trustworthy contractors, tradespersons, and fabricators. Our knowledge of building materials, experience in vendor communication, and awareness of the latest trends, informs our selections for all hires.

Throughout this phase, our team is in constant communication with the contractors to ensure no detail is missed and the timeline is met. We will actively be ordering materials and overseeing workers.

FINALE + BEYOND

Once all work has passed quality control and your space is clean and ready for move-in, we conduct a walk-through to ensure your satisfaction. We also offer a comprehensive e-binder of all materials, brands, and colors used on your project. This includes floorplans, city documentation, contractor estimates, and work completed.
